The Legend of Dragoon Manga was released June 2000, around the same time as the game's release in North America, but follows a different story. The manga covers an alternate series of events that occurs in the first chapter of the game.
It was finally translated outside of Japan in 2020 by a fan called “DrgnMasterKota” who did a fan translation of the entire Manga in English that can be found online. Officially though, no localized adaption of this Manga has ever been released outside Japan.
Differences between the manga and the game[]
- Haschel doesn't make an appearance, because the heroes don't visit Lohan in the manga.
- The battle with Drake the Bandit in Shrine of Shirley doesn't take place.
- Albert is taken to the Black Castle instead of Hellena Prison.
- The heroes go to Hoax after the events in Hellena Prison, completely ignoring Limestone Cave and Basil.
- Lloyd is the one who kills the Feyrbrand dragon.
- Albert doesn't become the new wielder of the Jade Dragoon Spirit, because Lavitz doesn't get killed in Hellena Prison.
