Sandora Elite (サンドラ特殊兵, Sandora Tokushu-hei) is a minor Boss in Hoax, and a Collision Encounter in the Black Castle that can respawn. Both are Darkness elemental. Fighting the Elite in Hoax can be difficult because of his high defense and high attack.

Appearance

Elite is armored, but in other ways appears as a Ninja, with black or extremely dark mahogany loose fitting leather and cloth, Ninjutsu magic use, and agile fighting techniques initiated from a crouching fighting stance. The clothes remain black, but in the Black Castle, the armor becomes a much lighter brown.

Battle

The Elite uses different attacks in the two locations

Hoax

In the Hoax encounter, this fight can drain away resources that are needed for the battle with Kongol immediately afterward. There is some tension here between finishing off the Elite quickly and keeping healed for the battle to come.

• Chain Grab: He shoots out a chain that grabs either Lavitz or Dart.
• Heavy Kunai Throw: He throws a large kunai at the party member he aims for.
• Katon: Chants an incantation with red Kanji form into the red ball in his hands until it turns into a green flame and slams it into the ground and hits with moderate damage to both members.
• Utsusemi: Chants an incantation with blue Kanji form into a blue ball in his hands as he twirls and splits into two other Sandora Elites thus creating an illusion. He does this when he's close to half health and, may do it several more times if not killed fast enough.

Note: The real Sandora Elite will be the only copy who uses Katon. A bigger shadow is also cast by the real one.

Black Castle

• Assassin Shot - the Elite whips a Shuriken at the ally
• Charging Spirit - prepares for All Out Attack or Special
• All-Out Attack - stronger attack
• Gushing Magma - Fire Magic damage on all allies

Drops

Both 8% chance:

• Healing Breeze is available in all shops from Disc 2 onward except Donau and Furni
• Gushing Magma is available at Lohan and Fueno
