Ghostship portrait 2

A portrait on board of the Phantom Ship of (presumably) Queen Theresa with the newborn Princess Louvia in her hands.

Princess Louvia of Mille Seseau was supposedly the last Moon Child before the events of the game.

Story[]

Before the events of the game[]

When the new Moon Child was born, the Black Monster roamed through Mille Seseau, searching for the Moon Child on its quest to kill it. After the newborn princess passed through Neet, she went off to the sea on a royal ship called the St. Louvia, where she and the entire crew of the ship were found and subsequently killed by the Black Monster.

In sadness, unrest and regret on having been unable to protect the newborn princess, the entire crew of the ship, which haunts the seas of Illisa Bay between Tiberoa and Mille Seseau, still clinges to the world.

In-game[]

Phantom Ship[]

During the events of CD 2, while on board of the Queen Fury to chase Lenus and the Sea Dragon Regole in Ilissa Bay, Dart and his group encounter the Phantom Ship of the St. Louvia. They witness a tragedy from the past, as they see restless spirits of the crew and soldiers live through the events of the past, being killed by the Black Monster.

After defeating the Ghost Knights, the Head of the Ghost Knights is brought to rest by Shana, as upon seeing her, he thanks the gods that she "made it". The ghost nanny, upon seeing Shana, also finds peace and leaves the world after having waited for 18 years.

Oh my, you are...? Alive... Oh lord. It was not in vain. I have been wandering for 18 years and longing for you. I can now end everything. I can go to the place everyone is.

-The ghost nanny

After these events, the Phantom Ship sinks and is eventually put to eternal rest.

Conclusion[]

WARNING: Sections contains spoilers.

Zieg Feld, who disguised himself as a reborn Emperor Diaz, reveals in the later stages of the game that Princess Louvia was not the Moon Child, and instead, Shana, her twin sister, is the actual Moon Child. This makes Shana a princess of Mille Seseau as well.

It is never explained in the game how the baby Shana got seperated from her twin sister and how she ended up being adopted by the mayor of Seles in Serdio, a country far from her actual homeland.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being a Princess of Mille Seseau, it is never unambiguously confirmed in the game that she was the child born to Queen Theresa, despite the portrait in the ship suggesting it. Apart from this clue, there are no statements in the game on Queen Theresa having been an actual mother; of the four sacred sisters she is surrounded with, at least Miranda and Luanna are confirmed to not be her biological children.
  • The cutscene where the Queen Fury collides with the Phantom Ship shows a skeleton pierced through a broken pole of one of the ship's masts. Although not confirmed, it may be the remains of the actual Princess Louvia.
