Nello (ネロ, Nero) is a citizen of Fletz who calls himself the "representative of the Green Project" and has a plan to turn the Barrens into a green paradise like Donau.
Story[]
Dart and his party stay with him at their first night in Fletz, where Albert shows particular interest in his plan on growing trees and plants in the Barrens. Topics of their discussion include the relationship between humans and the Earth, the "marvelous things": Peace of mind, fruits, vegetables, delicious air, that are brought by greenery, and funding for research to "promote the greening".
Then spoken to in later stages of chapter 2, he mentions that he feels as if someone is watching him. It can be discovered later that Princess Lisa has turned her telescope down from the stars and has occasionally been gazing at him, apparently romanticizing about his good qualities and harboring a crush on him.
In later stages of the game, he manages to get plants to grow in the soil from the Barrens. When visiting Princess Lisa in later stages of the game, she directly says his name upon gazing at him and congratulating him on his success, revealing Nello as her actual person of interest.
In the ending cutscene reel of the game, Princess Lisa and King Zior pass by his house. Nello shakes Lisa's hand enthusiastically, then bows to King Zior apologetically while Lisa giggles.
