Endiness map

Official artwork map of Endiness.

Endiness is the continent where the story of The Legend of Dragoon takes place. The history of the continent spans more than 11,000 years, where different species dominated the continent.

Geography[]

Mainland[]

Endiness consists of three major countries: Serdio in the east, Tiberoa around the center, and Mille Seseau in the north. West of Tiberoa, there is a desert region with arid climate known as the Death Frontier, and in the northwest lies an ancient and now unhabitated country called Gloriano. South of the Death Frontier, there is a larger peninsula with an unknown name.

Unexplored and remote regions[]

Endiness east

Eastern regions of Endiness, with locations called Seilnder, Nissel and presumably Lidalio.

Endiness northeast

The northeastern, remote areas of Endiness, with regions called Azeel, Edinoro and Losta.

To the west of the main continent, seperated from the mainland by the Straits of Walter and Rudra Bay lie the Broken Islands, a series of islands with presumably thin civilization; a notable village on the islands visited in the game is Rouge.

To the east of Endiness is a continent or region connected by a forest path to Seles, which is possibly the region where Dart had traveled to before returning to his home. Places named in this continent are plains called Nissel, a passage between mountains called Seilnder, and a mountain region presumably called Lidalio.

In the most northeastern parts on the map of Endiness, a mountain chain can be seen going into the oceans east of the Straits of Merzis, with the most outer mountain region called Azeel, another being called Edinoro and plains between being called Losta.

None of the eastern and northeastern regions are visited throughout the game.

Oceans and borders[]

South of the mainland lies a vast ocean with the Aquara Coral Reef, which continues into the Straits of Walter, seperating the mainland from the Broken Islands. North of the Straits of Walter, to the west of the Death Frontier, lies an ocean called the Rudra Bay, which connets to the Fourtos Ocean, the sea border spanning around the entirety of northwestern and northern Endiness.

Between the most northeastern Mille Seseau and the mountains of Azeel lie the Straits of Merzis. These again continue to the South into Illisa Bay, a notably large ocean region bordering on all major countries of Endiness. The southwestern part of Illisa Bay, in the triangle between Tiberoa, Mille Seseau and the Death Frontier, is visited by Dart and his group throughout the game, as are the Islands at the heart of Illisa Bay, Sunorest Island and Prison Island.

Apart from Illisa Bay, these oceans and borders visible on the map of Endiness are not mentioned in the game; the southern ocean with the Aquaria Coral Reef is transitioned when travelling from Fletz to Rouge.

  • At the bookstore in Bale, all the content misspell the continent as "Endines".
  • While having his courage tested on CD4, Albert is warned of an "Eastern Tribe" that is attacking Serdio, though it is a false alert to test his courage to set priorities.
  • While trying to calm down Syuveil who is about to meet his fate in death, Rose tells him of a story in the eastern lands about how they believe life doesn't have a beginning or end, it just revolves like a circle.
  • In Fletz, Albert cites some statistics: According to the Royal Personnel Authority of Serdio, there are approximately one million people living in Endiness. About 550,000 are women and about 4% of them, or 22,000, are named Claire.
