Kanzas was the original Violet Dragoon during the Dragon Campaign. He greatly enjoyed fighting and killing and kept clay dolls of the people he killed. It was Shirley who convinced Kanzas to join in the fight for freedom.
While the other dragoons were fighting in Kadessa, Kanzas stayed behind to fight a Super Virage. To destroy it, he unleashed a mighty self-destruction attack. Said Super Virage presumably is the Scarred Super Virage encountered by Dart and his group in the Forbidden Land.
When he died his soul lived on, but thanks to Shirley who fixed all of the original Dragoon's souls to go to Vellweb rather than the Death City Mayfil, his soul rested in his tower at Vellweb. After being defeated by Dart, Rose and their group, he expresses some regret to not have been able to have the "nobleness" of Shirley, and was hoping to find it even after death.
Dragoon Addition[]
Kanzas is using the same Dragoon Addition as Haschel.
Dragoon Magic[]
Kanzas uses all of the magic Haschel can use with the exception of Thunder Kid. The magic Kanzas can use are Atomic Mind, Thunder God, and Violet Dragon.

- Within the game, there is contradicting evidence on who of the original Dragoons fought with the Super Virage. The cutscene of Rose remembering the Dragoon Campaign during CD 2 unambiguously shows Kanzas destroying the Super Virage by self-destructing. However, within the game, upon encountering the Scarred Super Virage in the Forbidden Land, Rose figures that this "must be the Virage that killed Belzac". Belzac himself, upon being confronted in Vellweb, remembers that he "[...] took the attack of Super Virage, with [his] own body...to be the shield for Shirley". In the cutscene, however, Belzac is never seen to fight with the Super Virage, instead dying from being pierced by the claw from a normal Virage while stopping a collapsing roof from crushing him and Shirley. This contradiction is never resolved within the game.
