Hellena Wardens (ヘルライナ兵, Heruraina-hei) are guards from the prison Hellena Prison. When encountered, they come in packs, sometimes together with a Senior Warden.
The player will actually encounter this enemy two different times. For the most part their positions and patrols are the same, but the storyline ambush leading to Jiango is one example of alterations.
As unlikely as it may seem, with Meru in a whole other country, the second visit also gives a 2% chance of the second Meru weapon.[1] It is known to drop near the lower save point
First Encounter[]
As usual, the magical attack is the one that does the most damage. The physical, Mallet Mash, does not do much. Their magical ability is basically using the item Spark Net on one of the allies.
Enemies tend to spam spells when they are at below 25% health, or when the indicator over their heads is "in the red". So it is even more crucial than in other games that the player correctly assesses whether there is ally HP enough to sprint to the finish, or whether some recuperation is needed first. This mechanic will catch some off guard, and the game never tells you, but otherwise it is a good test of judgement.
Second Encounter[]
The second encounter is basically the same as the first, again it will be the only enemy you run across throughout the main part of the prison. The only difference between the first and second encounter is that they get slightly tougher and the use Gushing Magma as the magical item of choice against the heroes.
Battle[]
- Mallet Mash - Runs towards a single opponent and smashes them for low physical damage.
- Spark Net - Deals low to medium thunder-element based damage.
