He was once Haschel's student, but was kicked out of Rouge twenty years ago for being too lazy. Following him to the Home of Gigantos, which he has turned into a base for his band of thieves, the party fight him inside the main hall. After the fight, Princess Emille's uncharacteristically rude behavior is explained by Gehrich's revelation: the real princess has been kidnapped, replaced by Lenus. He dies shortly after telling the party the truth and is entombed by Haschel, at which point Dart regains the Red-eyed Dragoon Spirit and the party may continue the storyline in Fletz.
Mappi is without a doubt the greatest threat here, with his Throat Slit requiring an Angel's Prayer every time he uses it. Talisman was not yet available for the first fight with Mappi but is highly recommended here. It will only protect one person, but at least it removes the biggest chance of a wipeout from one Can't Combat after another using up all the Angel's Prayers.
Gehrich is not a very fast fighter, but his attacks are fairly strong. *Gehrich cannot use "Double Team" if Mappi is dead, and Mappi cannot use "Vanish" if Gehrich is dead. Soul Headband gives Haschel 5 more DF and two more MAT, drops at only a one quarter chance from Gehrich, and is not purchasable until Deningrad.
- Swipe: Gehrich slashes a party member with his knife
- Three Step Kick: Gehrich kick's a party member three times, with the final kick slamming them to the ground
- Double Team: Mappi and Gehrich team up on a party member*
Character Specific StrategyEdit
- Shana: Sparkle Arrow has been replaced by the Long Bow since Kazas; Sparkle Arrow could do the same damage as Long Bow to Mappi, but not to Gehrich or other non-Dark enemies.
