Feyrbrand the Green-Tusked Dragon (緑牙竜フェルブランド, ryoku-ga-ryu Feruburando, lit. "Green-Tusked Dragon Felbrand") is the first of several Dragons that appear in The Legend of Dragoon. He is first seen at the start of the adventure by trapping Dart Feld into a corner until the latter is saved by Rose. Besides its moniker of the "Green-Tusked Dragon", it is also well known for its poison.
Story[]
Feyrbrand was used by Imperial Sandora as a powerful weapon against the rivaling Kingdom of Basil in the Serdian War. As the control over the dragon broke the balance of power, Emperor Doel started to become more aggressive. The dragon was controlled by Greham, a defector from Basil to Sandora, who obtained the Dragoon Spirit of the Jade Dragon.
First Encounter[]

Dart is in a forest when he hears a parade of horses galloping by. He heads up to confront two Sandora Soldiers. Before they are able to attack, Feyrbrand appears. Dart is chased deeper into the forest until he is saved by Rose. She explains that he was just attacked by a dragon, but does not understand why they would need a dragon to destroy the nearby village. Dart says that the village is his hometown and runs off to see what happened.
Second Encounter[]

Dart and company once again find Feyrbrand in the Nest of Dragon. At the end of the underground nest they find Greham, an old friend of Lavitz' father Servi Slambert, who however betrayed Servi and the Kingdom of Basil and deflected to Sandora. They find out that it has been him who has been controlling the dragon and so to stop him, they fight both Greham and Feyrbrand.
Final Encounter[]
The Dragoons again encounter Feyrbrand for the final time at the Death City Mayfil. Rose explains that he may still be in this world because he had too much pride for having been defeated by humans. By defeating his spirit one more time, his attachment to the world was severed and his soul was presumably freed.
Battle at Nest of Dragon[]
Feyrbrand is of wind element and as such prone to take stronger damage from attacking items of earth element, i.e. Pellet and Meteor Fall. However, attacking him with magical attacks and items is a double-edged sword, as his attack power will increase every time when hit with magic damage. Feyrbrand is able to deal significant physical damage with his regular attack, has a lot of HP and can disrupt the player by causing status ailments. For these reasons, it may be recommendable to defeat Feyrbrand before Greham.
Feyrbrand uses three attacks during the battle, the attacks he uses are listed below.
- Tusk Attack: Feyrbrand attacks a party member with his tusk.
- Slime Shot: Feyrbrand shoots damaging slime out of his abdomen. Each slime has a different color: Green slime inflicts poison, white slime inflicts stun and blue slime inflicts fear.
- Attack Power Up: Feyrbrand charges up energy to permanently raise its attack power. He only uses it when he is hit with any magic based attack.
Battle at Mayfil[]
The second time Dart and the group encounter Feyrbrand is at the Death City Mayfil, where he is an optional boss in form of a spirit. He uses the same attacks as in his first encounter.
