Fletz, the capital city of Tiberoa.

After ending the Serdian War by defeating Emperor Doel, Dart, Rose, Shana, Albert, and Haschel leave Serdio in pursuit of Lloyd. They arive in the Kingdom of Tiberoa at the capital city Fletz and discover that many of its residents have a fondness for astrology, astronomy and the stars. While the inhabitants seem friendly, they keep their doors locked in fear of the neighboring bandits in the Barrens. At the town's entrance, the party comes across a bridge named "Claire Bridge", discovering that his is both Haschel's missing daughter's name and Dart's mother's name. However, the group quickly dismisses the possibility of the two being blood related, despite Haschel joking about the possibility of some "secret connection" between him and Dart.

While exploring the downtown near the Twin Castle, the group witnesses Princess Emille in the streets, who, despite being rumored to be beautiful and graceful, mistreats the citizen and particularly a pregnant woman asking her to name her unborn child. This shocks Albert, who appears to have been excited to meet her.

Is, is this person Princess Emille? I heard that she was very sweet. Oh no... if this is a dream, please wake me up!

-Albert

At the town bar, they meet the town gossip Kaffi, who knows nothing about Lloyd, but suggests the should visit the astronomer Fester at the next house. After talking to Kaffi, in the evening, they visit Fester, who tells the group the folklore about the Moon that Never Sets and the Black Monster. Fester soon leaves to see Princess Lisa, his student and Princess Emille's younger sister. Curiously, in the evening, Dart and his group witness Bandits roaming the city. They meet Nello, a gardener whose goal is to fill the Barrens with green life. They stay for the night, with Albert showing particular interest in Nello's ideas. The morning after, they head north to the Barrens to continue searching for Lloyd.

In astronomy, a moon that never sets canot exist. Stars travel the sky by catching the winds of time. But this moon is not affected by time. It never moves, day or night. That's why it's called the Moon That Never Sets. After counting 108 years, when the Moon That Never Sets glows red, a moon child descends upon the earth to fill the world with holy bliss. A poem of war, telling the fate given by the Moon. However, what we really get is the spawning of destruction and fear that is the Black Monster.

The Barrens at the center of Tiberoa.

In their pursuit of Lloyd, after having witnessed some anomalies such as roaming bandits and unladylike behavior by Princess Emille in Fletz, Dart and his group cross the Barrens to make their way to Donau in their hopes to find information on the whereabouts of Lloyd. As they cross the unfertile land, they are confronted by members of the Gehrich Gang, most notably the claw-handed Mappi.

Dart and his companions make quick work of the bandits, but Mappi tricks Dart by begging for his life, only to suddently attack him off guard. Mappi snatches the Dragoon Spirit of the Red-Eye Dragoon from Dart and flees, with Rose intervening but unable to hit the nimble bandit. Dart and his group then continue their journey to Donau.

Dart and his companions are greeted by a timid girl who mistakes them for bandits for their dirty clothing. The witness the otherwise pleasant town infested by bandits, and upon entering Kate's house to the right of the entry to the town, Dart and his group hear that her fiancé, Lynn, had went alone just a few days before their wedding day to convince the Gehrich Gang to leave the town. He left her a letter and has not returned. She begs Dart and his group to save Lynn. The group agrees to help Kate and shows Lynn's letter to his father, the mayor, who tells the group that the Gehrichs come from an area beyond the Valley of Corrupted Gravity.

The group meets Meru.

After talking to the mayor, the group heads down from the mayor's house and meet Meru, a platinum-haired girl who chases away a bunch of bandits. Meru is excited to meet Dart and his group and wants to join their quest to rescue Lynn, but the heroes are sceptical at first. Dart ultimately accepts Meru as he recognizes her being serious about it, as she tells the group about requiring the permission from King Zior to enter the Valley of Corrupted Gravity. Together with Meru, the group makes its way to Fletz to ask for said permission.

Second Visit to Fletz[]

Main article: Fletz

The group returns from Donau together with Meru to get King Zior's permission to enter the Valley of Corrupted Gravity and rescue Lynn and retrieve the stolen Dragoon Spirit. The group tries to convince the giant guard blocking the castle entrance, but are denied entry to the Twin Castle, especially after Meru attempts to force her way in. The group incidentally meets Fester in the Accessory Shop, and one more time in the downtown before the castle entry at the market square, and after talking to him at his home and telling their story, accept his offer to go to the castle together with him, as he has free access to it as the Governor and tutor of Princess Lisa.

In the evening, the group follows Fester to the castle. They meet King Zior who grants them the permission to enter the Valley of Corrupted Gravity, though the speech from the king at first indicates that he cannot trust his own senses as he sees three Festers as Dart and Albert kneel before him alongside Fester, and must be reassured that both his eyes and his ears are operating correctly. When Dart speaks to the servants around the castle, they confirm that King Zior has also been behaving strangely.

When Dart and his group leave the castle, Princess Lisa's maid Libria stops them, adresses Albert as "your majesty" and brings them to meet with Princess Lisa, who used astrology to find out about Albert's real identity. Princess Lisa reveals that six months ago, she and Princess Emille went for a horse ride, where her sister fell from her horse. Princess Emille underwent a major personality change after that, although Emille was once deeply loved by her people. Princess Lisa also tells the group that the stars hint at a connection between Princess Emille's change of behavior and the Gehrich Gang that started to roam all over Tiberoa since about the same time. Lastly, she gives a warning from the stars to "never hand over the Moon", possibly referring to the passing of the Moon Dagger at her sister's coming of age ceremony which will soon be held.

After the conversation, Princess Lisa invites the group to stay for dinner and overnight in the castle. During the meal, Princess Emille behaves badly, speaking impolitely to the guests and Fester, but King Zior still praises her of her vividity in front everyone else. After dinner, the group begins to suspect that something is wrong with Princess Emille.

Haa Haa Haa! Isn't she a great eater! It seems when girls become 20 years old they develop quite an appetite! Oh, Fester? Would you introduce our guests to Emille?

-King Zior

After staying overnight in the castle, Dart and his group make their way to the Valley of Corrupted Gravity.

The Valley of Corrupted Gravity.

After obtaining the pass from King Zior on the second visit to Fletz, Dart and his group continue their journey and enter the gate of the Valley of Corrupted Gravity. In awe of the aftermaths of the Dragon Campaign, they cross the rock plates by stepping onto levitating rocks and navigating through gravity paddles and glowing areas of white light that reverse the gravity around them.

The group makes their way to the top of the Valley and finds a Complete Virage entombed between some rocks, to which Rose states that the Virage may be the actual cause of the distortions in the Valley. Shana hears the same voices she heard in Volcano Villude when the group encountered an incomplete Virage, and the group braces for the inevitable confrontation if the Virage awakes. Upon approaching it, the Virage indeed awakes and Dart and his companions have no choice but to fight it.

After the battle, the Virage stretches its hand towards Shana, but suddenly the mysterious powers within Shana that appeared in the battle against Urobolus in the Limestone Cave are released again and overwhelm the Virage, prompting it to fall off the ledge into the abyss. Rose is suspicious about Shana, but Dart quickly goes to comfort her, telling her that "there is no more Virage".

The group, somewhat affected by these events, takes a moment of rest just before exiting the valley. Dart approaches each of the group members and talks with them, and the group – Dart, Rose, Albert, Haschel, Meru and Shana – decide to take on new courage on their quest and continue to the Home of Gigantos to save Lynn and retrieve the Dragoon Spirit of the Red-Eye Dragon.

Home of Gigantos[]

Main article: Home of Gigantos

After Dart and his group pass through the Valley of Corrupted Gravity, they find the ancient home of the Gigantos. They are targeted by traps shooting arrows at them, and in front of a massive gate, end up surrounded by Bandits of the Gehrich Gang. They open fire, but Dart swiftly evades them and charges towards the gate, which is however closed. As the bandits lose their patience, they call one of their leaders to fight Dart and his group.

When the Gangster prepares for the fight, Haschel recognizes his stance and style as the Rouge School of Martial Arts. After defeating the Gangster, Haschel presses him on where he acquired the style and asks for whether he knows a woman named Claire, but instead he replies that his boss Gehrich, who was supposedly kicked out of the school about 20 years ago, has taught it to him.

The Rouge School of Martial Arts is a tradition found only in my village. All the people who use the Rouge style from outside of my village must have a connection there. Do you know a woman fighter called Claire?

-Haschel to the Gangster

Haschel then proceeds to give Dart a demonstration of the true power of the Rouge Style of Martial Arts, focusing his entire power into one strike to destroy the gate that was closed before. In the next area, the group splits up to search for the Bandits, but Haschel claims to have some back pain and to require some rest. While the rest of the group searches inside a cave and finds some Rock Fireflies, Meru is waiting alongside Haschel, but Haschel knocks her out and runs off into the large hall before him alone.

Gehrich

Gehrich, the leader of the Gang.

Inside the hall, Mappi and Gehrich are having a conversation. Haschel comes in and confronts Gehrich, before Dart and his company interfere. The following fight ends with Mappi defeated and Haschel dealing a finishing punch to Gehrich. As Mappi dies, he says "I'll crush you!" as his final words and a tremor shakes the entire building; a huge statue arm collapses down towards the party. Just as all hope is lost, Kongol appears out of nowhere to catch the pillar and save the lives of his former opponents.

In Gehrich's final moments, he reveals that the Princess Emille they met is an imposter and the real one is hidden somewhere in the Twin Castle. Kongol reveals he intends to join Dart, as he was able to overcome Emperor Doel. While Haschel buries Gehrich, the rest of the group find Lynn and Dart's Dragoon Spirit in the basement of the Gigantos Temple.

Third Visit to Fletz[]

Main article: Fletz

After the group hears from Gehrich that the Princess Emille currently acting in the Twin Castle is an imposter, and after freeing Lynn and retrieving the Dragoon Spirit of the Red-Eye Dragon, they head back towards Fletz, traversing the Valley of Corrupted Gravity and the Barrens again. Lynn says his goodbyes, and the group has the option to follow him to Donau, where they witness his wedding ceremony with Kate.

When Dart and his companions arrive at Fletz, they hear fireworks, indicating that the coming of age ceremony has already begun. They hurry to the castle and are warned by the giant gatekeeping soldier that a lot of unfamiliar new knights have been installed by Princess Emille.

[...] just asking doesn't mean you have an invitation. It's so packed you couldn't fit a penny in. Look. She suddenly got a lot of hanger-ons. There are so many new faces that I have never seen before. and according to rumor, they used to be bandits. See, bad attitude, right? They call themselves knights, but nobody can say anything because it's Princess Emille. Oh!! Don't tell anybody about this! And I'll let you in.

The group splits up to search, leaving Meru, Haschel and Kongol outside. After touching the portrait of Princess Emille, Dart, Albert, Shana, Rose and Princess Lisa are teleported to a magical parallel dimension. Across an eerie void of twinkling lights they saw Princess Emille unconscious on a seat; a glowing bridge is summoned and they go over. Princess Lisa is unsuccessful in awaking her, but Albert tries again, telling her about the urgency and Tiberoa being at grave danger, to which the princess awakes. After being told about the happenings of the past six months, Princess Emille is determined to reveal the truth.

While the King is shocked that there are two Emilles, the imposter snatches the Moon Dagger from his hands and reveals she is Lenus. Dart and his group fight her and corner her, but she reveals herself as a Wingly, escaping through the window towards the open sea.

After the fight, Albert reveals his true identity as the king of Serdio to King Zior, who pledges his finest ship, the Queen Fury, under the command of Commodore Puler, to sail from Donau to Illisa Bay in pursuit of Lenus.

Embarking in Donau, Dart and his friends use Tiberoa's flagship to catch up to Lenus. The group first talks to Kayla and is then greeted by Commodore Puler, who welcomes the party onto the ship. On board, the group splits up to different locations. Shana watches the birds and thinks of her journey and her own mysterious powers.

-Shana

Shana finds Dart in the bridge of the ship, as he is in deep thought, and tries to have a conversation with him about the future. However, before Dart reaches any conclusion, Shana runs off leaving Dart to return his thoughts to the Black Monster. Dart seeks out Rose for information, but she tells she has none relating to the Black Monster. Instead, Rose then enlightens Dart that the Dragoon's source of power is insanity, which goes against human nature, much like revenge.

War is not in human nature. Humans fight by making themselves enter insanity. It is...the same for revenge. This is a tool to amplify the insanity. And this insanity is the source of the power of Dragoons, the Dragon Knight. Someday, something will happen, and if you cannot chasten your insanity, I wonder if you will be able to endure it, given the size of your spirit?

Wanting to relax, Rose explores the ship and finds Haschel, who asks her why she travels with the group, but they don't have a particularly fruitful conversation, as Haschel remarks that "you look like you're rushing yourself to death, with your life being run by something". After Rose leaves, Haschel thinks of when he chased his daughter Claire away from his hometown Rouge after she seriously injured her training partner after being repeatedly critized and yelled at by Haschel.

I shouted out of anger. I was just running away from the pain that we have to overcome together, as a Master and as a Father. It's been 20 years since I left the village pursuing Claire, but what I have found was only my immaturity. As time goes by, I forget the objectives of my journey. But Dart and the others gave me a new one. I think...what I am going through now is a journey to support the passion of young Dart and his friends. Oops! Oops! I have become too mushy! Well, maybe I'll go tease Kongol! I hope he is not knocked out with seasickness!

Kongol, instead of asking Albert for past stories of Emperor Doel, he instead asks for the meaning of friends reflecting on Dart's words. Albert asks him whether Emperor Doel was his friend, but Kongol denies it and says that he was fighting for Emperor Doel in his vision to create a world where all species are equal.

Maybe we can put it this way. Maybe "friends" are the people who walk on the same road. People who walk together, but not led by somebody, who share happiness and pain. Yes. That is us now. Although we have different objectives, we are walking side by side. Kongol. You are already walking the same road as us.

After Kongol goes off to reflect on Albert's words, the king hears Meru yelling out of boredom and decides to socialize with his "friends" on his own. He is greeted by Meru playing a prank and throwing a cushion at him, to which he questions her being serious abou the journey and expressing his worries about his comrades.

Meru, when you joined us, you said 'There is still something I can help with'. Is that true? [...] You are not just kidding it seems. Our journey is a dangerous one. We will not be able to succeed, if we take a lackadaisical attitude towards it. Therefore, I wanted to make sure one more time. I don't want to see anybody else dying. Now, please excuse me.

-Albert to Meru

Eventually, Meru seeks out Dart to invite him to go around the ship together with her. When Dart is somewhat indifferent about it, Meru initates a more serious conversation, asking Dart questions about Rose and lamenting that Rose has a particularly cold attitude towards her.

Rose has a mysterious personality. She is always cold but when it comes to a critical point, she leads us in a variety of ways.

Dart then agrees to join "Meru's expedition" on the ship. When everyone gathers, Albert comments that judging from the heraldry, it seems to be a royal ship from Mille Seseau. While the crew of the Queen Fury hurries to repair the engine, Dart and his companions suddently hear an outcry of Shana who finds herself on the deck of the Phantom Ship. A Magician Bogey flies around her and summons Skeleton Warriors who attack Shana, but suddently, two Ghost Knights appear and fight the skeletons off before disappearing again.

The group decides to uncover some of the ship's mysteries. They chase the Magician Bogey from before down into the ship, and upon defeating it, the soul of the ship's captain ask them to come to his cabin. They find the picture of a Queen with a baby and the captain's restless spirit in the captain's cabin, who tells the tragedy of the Black Monster attacking the ship and killing everyone, including the newborn Princess Louvia. When they leave back to the deck, Ghost Knight suddently appear and talk to Dart and his group as they did to the Black Monster, and the group witnesses how they died.

As they continue exploring the ship, with another door on the main deck unlocked, they fight a Ghost Commander and four of his Ghost Knights. When Shana tells the restless Commander that there is no more Black Monster and that they should not suffer anymore, he fades away after a cryptic line, making Shana wonder whether there is something she doesn't know about yet.

You... you are... Thank god. You made it. Princess Louvia...

-Ghost Commander

When they meet the Ghost Nanny, she laments the fate of Princess Louvia. However, upo seeing Shana, the Nanny mysteriously believes Princess Louvia is alive and vanishes into peace. Suddently, the Phantom Ship starts shaking violently and seperates itself from the Queen Fury, where the crew has restored the engine. Dart and his friends quickly free from the sinking ship and jump over to the Queen Fury, with Rose and Dart as the last. Rose barely makes the jump, but Dart slips off and is catched by Rose, who finds herself in a familiar life or death situation from the past. Rose refuses to let go, and she falls off the ship into the ocean together with Dart, while Shana watches in shock. Kayla immediately tells Commodore Puler to get the life raft down into the water.

Shirley, seeing this, promises Belzac's death will not be in vain and prepares to shoot an arrow into the Virage's eye, which at the same time charges its laser towards the two Dragoons, likely killing them. They discover that Pete's mother is sick and they all need to make their way to the biggest nearby town, Fueno, however, Pete and his mother were unable to go as there is a monster in the Undersea Cavern that leads to Fueno. As Dart and Rose want to leave the village, Pete and Pooch asks them to accompany him and his mother to Fueno, with the two Dragoons agreeing and Rose saying that she can "annihilate the monster for you", with Dart, Pete and Pooch reacting with a blank stare.

She directs them back to the town, where Dart bumps into Meru who scolds him for being blind, before realizing that it is Dart and Rose. Meru is overjoyed at their return and takes them to the hotel, particularly mentioning the need for Dart to quickly see Shana.

In front of the bar of the hotel, Meru repeats her prank of covering Dart's eyes. His eyes uncovered, Dart is surprised to see Albert, Haschel and Kongol again. Dart tells the the group about their journey from Lidiera after falling from the Phantom Ship. Meru speculates that something may have happened between Rose and Dart; Haschel scolds her for rudeness, and then is unable to contain himself, asking more or less the same question. Rose reveals that Dart only spoke about Shana, and Dart is asked to go upstairs to Shana, who didn't speak a word since they were lost. Finally, Haschel remarks to Albert that Rose seems to have changed and calmed a bit compared to her usual way.

Drippy telling the story of the Sea Dragon.

While walking around Fueno, the group meets a drunkard named Drippy telling his story. He wails about a Sea Dragon on Prison Island near the Undersea Cavern that destroyed his home. Although it seems to come from a somewhat unreliable source, it corresponds to the general state of things and rumors in Fueno and Tiberoa and reiterates what Commodore Puler said about a Sea Dragon attacking the ships nearby and scaring all the merchants away. The group decides to investigate the matters around the Sea Dragon; Pete guesses that it may live in Undersea Cavern. Finding the passage to Prison Island blocked, but hearing the roars of the Sea Dragon when passing through, the group searches for a way to get to Prison Island.

I saw a Dragon on the Prison Island! You don't know that! My ship was smashed by the Sea Dragon rumored to live over the Undersea Cavern! I gotta have a drink or something! But! You cannot go there anymore! There are lots of monsters there! My house was taken by those monsters! I gotta have a drink! It was a half year ago that the monster showed up. It's all the monster's fault that I'm like this now. Give my ship and my house back. ZZZZZZ...

-Drippy

They make their way to Lidiera and talk to the Mayor and the other two card players. The Mayor is impressed by Dart's determination and seriousness to "see the monster" and orders to open the tide gates and the passage through the Undersea Cavern to Prison Island. He explains that he used a simple trick to block the access deeper into the Undersea Cavern by waiting for the flood and then by simply closing the tide gate, in order to prevent adventurers from putting themselves into danger.

You need to 'see' the monster!? ... ... You look serious. The appearance.... You are warriors, aren't you? I got it. I'll tell ya. But it's up to you, whether you can survive there or not! I closed the route to the Prison Island, after the monster problem arose.

Dart and his group enter a cavern with some treasure inside and use a valve to open the gates, making the previously blocked path in the Undersea Cavern accessible.

As the graceful, kind and elegant Princess she was known for, the townspeople immediately notice that their real Princess returned. Emille deeply apologizes for the deeds of her imposter and vows to the people to make amendments, but the people insist that she is not at fault. Then, the pregnant woman that was mistreated by the false Princess Emille during the group's first visit to Fletz approaches the real Princess, asking her again to name her unborn children, with Princess Emille happily doing so.

I have returned after a half year of sleep. My father, King Zior, wouldn't say it, but I heard that the evildoings of the sinner who feigned to be me has harmed our people in Tiberoa. I can say it is my fault. Because people were wounded by trusting someone they thought was me. I am determined to make atonements for this, even if it takes forever. [...] I owe you a debt of gratitude. I love this country. I love you people. Let us make this country continue to be a wonderful country!

-Princess Emille to the citizen of Fletz

As Dart and his companions see this scene, Albert is awestruck at the Princess' beauty and grace, and cannot wait to see her again. Back in the castle, they are greeted by King Zior as heroes and the special guests of Tiberoa for saving his country from the Dragon, the bandits, and making everyone happy again. He remarks that the Moon Dagger is a mere ceremonial tradition, and that instead of it, the royal will family will now pass down the story of the seven heroes who saved his country.

It will be passed down through the ages from person to person: 'The seven stars arose from the East to save the country of the king who lives in the Chamber of the Sun.' ...
