Imago is a three stage non-elemental boss fight that takes place in the Divine Tree right before the Dragoons fully reach the Moon That Never Sets, that lays within the heart of the Divine Tree. It awakens after Kongol's landing shakes it from its slumber before it crawls off-screen, only to later confront the team.
Although itself No Element, Imago uses a Light attack.
It drops Moon Serenade, Sun Rhapsody and Healing Rain after battle.
Story[]
Rose is the one that recognizes it as an "unawakened fruit" and a "subspecies of insect". However before she can go into further detail, the large Caterpillar lands in front of the team and the fight commences. The first part of the battle consists of fighting its baby phase, aka the caterpillar. The Caterpillar's attacks consists of whip lashes from its eccentric tentacle-like tails and attempts to poison the team when the tail whipping fails. The next stage of the fight moves rather quickly, when the caterpillar morphs into a Pupa. The pupa does not attack the team, but instead floats in mid air and 'wriggles' from time to time; a foreshadowing of another boss to come. Once the team depletes this stage of HP, the final stage emerges; the Imago as it is labeled in the game.

Lower Magic Attack than the final form and the lowest Magic Defense, otherwise the same as Imago
Pupa[]
Lower Attack, higher Defense and lower Speed than either of the other two forms
Imago[]
Imago has the highest Magic Attack, and is tied for highest in every other stat.
The Imago appears to be a Harlequin/Jester humanoid looking entity with transparent luminescent red and yellow tinted wings that match the color scheme of the main body. Imago has quite high Stats, and its main attacks, though few, can be painful if characters are not equipped properly against this boss.
- Infight: its physical attack, consists of it hovering up towards a teammate, grabbing them by its head antennas and smacking them two or three times with its regular hands before jumping away
- High Output Laser: is magic Light based, and consists of it blasting one of the teammates with a beam of energy
- Smoke of Despair: it hovers about, flapping its wings at a party member in hopes of damaging them with either stun or poison, or inflicting dispirit
- Triangle Death: is a one-hit KO ability that consists of the Imago forming a blue triangle, capturing one of your party members in it, and slamming it into the ground
