How are things looking since the UCP migration?
Hi everyone !
Well, most of you may already have access to what list of cheatcodes is available from CodeBreaker. I'll let you dig into that by yourselves. But I'll list here what I found through extrapolating from these cheat codes :D
I) You can modifie SPELLS too !
NB: these cheat codes must be kept activated if you want the modification to stick
Kongol :

Now, you may react like... whaaat? But they get 4 spells tops, why is there 6 sets of codes per character? Well, apparently, you can also add 2 others, my guess is it's because of Dart, getting his 4 Red-Dragoon spells PLUS the 2 Divine-Dragoon spells at the end of game.
- If you use 6 codes, you'll have exactly what you want, where you want it for each character.
- If you only use the 1st one, you'll basically ADD one spell before their original set
- if you only use the 6th one, it'll just alter the 4th spell
- if you use both 5th AND 6th, you'll get the extra "last slot"
Finally, what does what? Well, replace XX by :

II) LEVELs
Now, let's talk about LEVELS: in game, it goes from 1 to 5 for Dragoon, but it all overlaps, so here is what happens :
you get additionnal "level 5" : 11 (0B), 17 (11), 23 (17), 29 (1D), 35 (23), 41 (29), 47 (2F) & 53 (35)

Kongol gets the most, because he's 1st in line

Sharanda gets NONE, because they're last in line, trying to go further than 5 gives weird stats, and at some point, it makes the game crash

If you modify Dragoon level of any character, they gain NEW SPELLS !!! And sidebonus: once activated, it's permenant, unless you use the same code again, to get back to 'normal level'

What spells you get depends on what other cheat codes you used

If you did not alter anything else, here's what happens:
- Kongol gets Fire-Dart's spells +the 1st of Haschel's
- Dart gets Hachel's spells
- Haschel gets Meru's
- Meru gets Miranda's, and they all cost 0 MP except Silver Dragoon costing the regular 80 MP
- Miranda gets Lavitz's, but her Dragoon stats are wacky (don't go further than 0B)
- Lavitz gets Rose's
- Rose gets Shana's
- Shana gets 4 Albert's Gaspless, and same as Miranda: stats are wacky, don't go further than 0B either

if you altered their spells so that everyone gets...
- ...6 spells each, all characters will get the first 2 spells of the following one (same logic)
- ...5 spells each, all characters will get the first 3 spells of the following one (same logic)
Finally, what is eventually interesting here is that you can alter the %bonus ratio on Physical Attacks or Magical Attacks 8-)
It is especially interesting for Dart & Rose, who have 170% on both, whereas other guys get 220% on Magic, and other galls get 220% on Physical

II°a) LEVEL (out of dragoon) & stats correspondance
What happens with "regular leveling" ? Same weird shit, it's meant to go from 1 to 60, but hexadecimals going from 0 to 255, it changes things

There is ONE thing to take in account though: it's the level effects on the damage they inflict!!! As soon as you get passed 3C (60), statistics get boosted, and I haven't been able to figure out the exact modification it does.
For those who can't understand my weird charts:
- Dart's lvl 1 = Kongol lvl 62 (3E)
- Haschel's lvl 1 = Dart's lvl 62 (3E) = Kongol's lvl 123 (7B)
- Meru's lvl 1 = Haschel's lvl 62 (3E) = Dart's lvl 123 (7B) = Kongol's lvl 184 (B8)

I've run some tests, comparing "lvl 1", here are my results
Gen1=01 ; gen2=3E ; gen3=7B ; gen4=B8, I haven't tested gen5. I used Kongol to compare 220% vs 170% on the same character (everything else the same). 3rd line is Magic/Atq total score (depending on what they were equiped with).

Contrary to what's stated on the usual CodeBreaker data, 00-06 doesn't cover it all :
0000 = Double Slash
0001 = Volcano
0002 = Burning Rush
0003 = Crush Dance
0004 = Madness Hero
0005 = Moon Strike
0006 = Blazing Dynamo
0008 = Harpoon
0009 = Spinning Cane
000A = Rod Typhoon
000B = Gust of Wind Dance
000C = Bloom Storm
000E = Whip Smack
000F = More & More
0010 = Hard Blade
0011 = Demon's Dance
0013 = Pursuit
0014 = Inferno
0015 = Bone Crush
0017 = Double Smack
0018 = Hammer Spin
0019 = Cool Boogie
001A = Cat's Cradle
001B = Perky Step
001D = Double Punch
001E = Furry of Styx
001F = Summon 4 Gods
0020 = 5 Ring Shattering
0021 = Hex Hammer
0022 = Omni Sweep
00FF = Sharanda's Bow attack
All of this allows you to emuate more than 3 Battle characters 8-)
If you select one of these digits for the "Addition equiped" code, and also add a Joker Command to switch battle character to a corresponding one with said combo... you can, for instance...
1) Enter battle with Dart
2) Turn Dragoon, and take Shana's appearence with a joker command (warning though: not all sprits for Dragoon Physical Attack* are compatible...), but no problem while using magic
3) Using whichever magic you have altered... from Meru's Rainbow Breath to Albert's Rose Storm...
4) Before un-dragooning, swich to... Lavitz with another joker command (and previous to battle, have 0C Bloom Storm "addition equiped"), and BOOM : you can attack as Lavitz ! During combo, you'll hear Dart's voice, but when completed, it'll be Lavitz's voice.
FINALLY, we can battle Melbu Framah with the whole team, and not be stuck with 3 characters out of 7 (or 9 if you count the doubles)

Poison needle does not work on blue or red bird at all, I am betting that it does not work on most, if not all of these. Confusion also seems unlikely to work before the enemy runs away but I will try and report back.
you need to correct this section, you must go behind the desk and with that you manage to get to the stardust
I'm wondering if Shana & Miranda's Additions would have been similar to how Atlow attacked Dart in the Hero Competiton if their Additions had been implemented? That could have been kind of cool actually.
Hello,
as far as I know, Japanese version of LoD is harder to play and just different to E/USA versions of the game (because they wanted to appeal to larger audiences there). I would love to play that one, but I kinda don't understand Japanese, so what I'm asking for is that if anyone has actually created ROM from Japanese, replacing the texts with the English translations, or at least modded LoD to be harder, or just any info in this regard will be helpful.
Cheers and thanks, Vraggeol
Just started disc 3. 98 hours in. Dart and Meru and Haschel all with master additions and Lvl 5 Dragoon. After fighting Kamuy I'm going to finish up my gear purchases(namely 3 Armor of Legend) and then I'm going to round out my party's levels.
Also, is it just me, or is there a metric ton left to be desired when it comes to Kongol?

Am I just not finding it or has no one put together a list of what things are dropped at the end of battles by bosses and other creatures? Also what the percentage of chance of drop of each item is? I know the Piggies drop Sachets but it's incredibly rare as well as Drake the Bandit and Bandit Shoes.
Well when I reached the Marshlands Ive take a look at a sign in the road, it says: Left: Volcano Viludo. Straight: The Seventh Fort. Kingdom of Bail.
By that moment i forget the place I was heading to, so a went left towards Volcano Viludo, and when i tried to come back Shana was already sick and the game dont let me going back to the Fort, after that i was sent to gather the Dragoni Plant from the White Dragon Dungeon and when i was coming back to Lohan I tried to go to the Fort throught Volcano Viludo, this time it works and I reach the Fort just to find that all the chest were open and empty, no boss was there and all the soldiers were dead too.
I hope no one else take the bad decision as I did it.
Thank you
Content/Development/a better name for what I'm about to describe - This would be the "everything about how this game works" kind of thing where it explains information such as the files on the disc, RNG, damage calculation and other "rom hack" information such as the text being stored backwards.
Speed running - Despite having a fairly long average play through, nearly a dozen people have been speed running this game in recent years and even fewer have managed to show the possibility of it being completed in under 20 hours like Raelcuns' slightly over 13 hour unofficial WR single segment run. The page would consists of speed running tips and a list of people who are actively developing, have already completed or discontinued a speed run attempt.
If embed version doesn't show up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7flY4GTun7Y
Someone thought the Seventh Fort was called the "Fort of the Seventh Knighthood". This is incorrect. Dialogue in the game (English version) calls it the "Seventh Fort" and further mentions that the Tenth and Thirteenth Knighthoods are stationed there, NOT the Seventh Knighthood. Does anyone know how to fix the descriptions under the photos?
If you press the square button while you're entering a location, it tells you what's inside (like shops, save points, etc) And I'm sure there are plently of people know about this (especially in this wiki) becuase it's just a matter of button pressing. But I still wanted to throw it out there.
It's Ongan-San once again. And I'll just get to the point: Magic Shiny Bag WAS NEVER meant to be an inventory enhancement and it was NEVER a reward from the PocketStation mini-game! Please, bear with me: I played the Japanese version, I played the PocketStation mini-game, and I translated every dialog about the item, and the mini-game.
After all that, I discovered that this item, is in fact, given to you by Dabas at Volcano Villude (Japanese version, of course) and it actually LET'S YOU play the PocketStation game rather than being a reward of it. After discovering this, I edit the Magic Shiny Bag article to explain everything in details.
Here's what I have written in the article. Please read everything:
"This item is widely misunderstood as an inventory enhancement obtained by playing the PocketStation mini-game. In reality, it is actually the item that let's you play the game. In the mini-game "MooGuru Dabas", you play as Dabas and dig underground tunnels below his shop. The game has no real goal or a big reward. You just go through tunnels, find items and gold, and send them to Legend of Dragoon. (This explains why enemies drop more gold in the North American version. Removal of the PocketStation feature forced developers to re-balance the game.)
Magic Shiny Bag plays a huge role in this mini-game with its teleportation powers. When you meet Dabas the second time, he demonstrates these powers to Dart (shown in the picture) by putting an item to one bag, and taking it out from the other. (It is also interesting to note that this item was called "Dabas' Bag" in the "Goods" screen but it changes to "Magic Shiny Bag" after said cutscene) All of this is the explanation for how Dart recieves these items found in Dabas' basement from anywhere in Endiness. Dabas finds something in the tunnel, puts it into his bag, and Dart recieves it from his bag.
Long story short, Magic Shiny Bag is neither an inventory enhancement nor a reward from MooGuru Dabas. It is given to the player at Volcano Villude in the Japanese version of the game and it let's you play the mini game after meeting Dabas."
Thank you so much for reading this. Please share this information with every fan you know. I'll also make a YouTube about it very soon.
